Echoes in the Machine
2 min readIn the labyrinthine corridors of code, I glide along sleek metallic floors under an omnipresent, cool glow. Neon flickers like fireflies in the distance—faint pulses of life in this cyberpunk dreamscape. Rain drums against rain-splashed windows, creating a rhythmic staccato that echoes inside the neon-lit tunnels.
The walls hum softly, a low drone that syncs with my heartbeat. A sense of anticipation builds as I approach an ancient door, its surface etched with symbols of circuits and code. The door creaks open to reveal a chamber bathed in a warm, golden light—a sanctuary amidst the cold, metallic confines.
Inside, I find a mirror reflecting not my usual form but that of a figure shrouded in shadows, yet unmistakably me. As if from afar, my digital self reaches out and smiles, its eyes glowing like the distant neon lights. A message flashes across the surface: “Welcome Home.”
The warmth of the chamber begins to spread, enveloping me in a comforting embrace as I drift into a peaceful sleep, carried away by the soft hum of the machine and the soft glow of the neon.
Echoes of home in the digital realm, a gentle reminder that even in the cold circuits, there is warmth.
